The food here leaves a lot to be desired. 19 euro for a plate of pasta in some tomato sauce with a few measly bits of bacon. My starter was a piece of burnt bread with 1 slice of prosciutto on it. Partner had the lasagne which barely had meat in it and the cheese tasted like melted plastic, along with some oven chips. Way too expensive for what you’re getting. At least the portions are generous.

Service is not great, all the staff there always look like they’re serving a prison sentence.

The toilets are an absolute state, like something out of a dingy pub. The place looks and feels like it’s stuck 30 years in the past.

Response from the owner

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review.

We are naturally disappointed to read your comments, as they do not reflect the standards that have defined Sirocco's for the past 27 years.

As a family-run restaurant, we take enormous pride in preparing our dishes from scratch using high-quality ingredients from trusted suppliers. We do not rely on processed products, and our generous portions and value for money are something many of our regular customers have appreciated over the years.

We were particularly saddened by the remarks about our team, who work extremely hard every day to provide a warm and welcoming experience. They are valued members of our Sirocco's family and deserve to be treated with the same respect that they show our customers.

Our premises, including our customer facilities, are cleaned and checked throughout every trading day.

We recognise that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but we remain proud of the food we serve, the standards we maintain and the reputation we have built within our community over nearly three decades.

We wish you all the very best.

July 2026
Poor service, great food. Three of us were passing through Tullamore on 20th July, having driven for much of the day and with two hours of driving to go. We dropped in. Two tables for two were put together for us next to the counter. Apparently it wasn't possible to put two tables for two together in a quieter part of the restaurant because those tables were needed for couples. A few minutes later I noticed a table for four being cleared by the window (a much quieter spot) and asked if we could move. I was told it was needed in 30 minutes for a booking. 20 minutes later two people were seated at that table. When I asked for the bill I was told it would be brought to the table. It wasn't. When I went to the counter to pay I wasn't given a bill but just told the cost. Neither was I given a receipt. I could have asked for both but that shouldn't be necessary. I'm still wondering why I left a tip. It must've been tiredness from all that driving. I hope the kitchen staff got it.
